 EA at UT Austin aims to help students figure out how they can use their careers and resources to best help others. We’re a community, movement, and team. For the fall 2022 semester, we will be offering:

  • An 8-week intro fellowship for new members

  • Social events (aka FOOD!) and Guest Speakers

  • Bi-weekly discussions on EA-related topics

    • Topics range from philosophy, global welfare, advanced AI, cause prioritization, global risk factor mitigation, and how we can best shape the future

Some Of Our Key Ideas

  • We can easily improve how much good we are doing in the world

  • In our hands we hold a critical chance to help the world in new ways

  • Although we enjoy unprecedented technological progress, we also currently face unprecedented risks

  • Our intuitions can often lead us down ineffective paths, but we can fix that

  • There are plenty of ways anybody and everybody can help

  • Rationalism, Research, and an Open Mind guide our deciscion-making

  • Doing good is already a pretty amazing thing! But we do feel a sense that more is possible

  • There are a lot of issues in the world; address the most important ones, first
